St Andrew’s Day (30th November) is our official national day, named after St Andrew the patron saint of Scotland.

Festive Celebrations

Celebrate Scotland’s national day with a visit to Edinburgh’s Christmas celebrations in the city centre. Events are on from late November to early January, but there’s usually something special on to mark St Andrew’s Day. Plans have not been announced.

Frozen Scotland

This St Andrew’s Day and throughout the festive season, George Street will be filled with beautiful ice and snow sculptures taking you on a journey through Scotland’s history. Tickets are £10 per person and available to book online now.

Ticket Giveaway – TBC

Over St Andrew’s Weekend many attractions across Scotland, including Edinburgh Castle and Craigmillar Castle, usually offer free tickets to visitors who pre-book online on the Historic Scotland website. Details for this year are still to be confirmed.
