Light Night

Sun 19 Nov, 15.00 – 17.00. Each year, Edinburgh’s Christmas Lights are switched on at the Light Night ceremony on George Street. Performers will sing and dance on stages all along George Street and the giant Christmas Tree on the Mound will be lit as part of the celebrations. The grand finale will be a stunning fireworks display. The night will be hosted by Radio Forth One’s Arlene Stuart. Light Night is free and unticketed and attracts many thousands of visitors each year, so it is advised to get there early.

Ice Adventure

Fri 17 Nov – Sun 24 Dec. Journey through Scotland’s history on this magical immersive experience filled with amazing ice and snow sculptures. The temperature will be -10°C, so be sure to wrap up warm! Tickets £10 per person, or £30 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Under 2s go free. Suitable for all ages and wheelchair accessible. Winter Wonderland

Fri 17 Nov – Sat 6 Jan. East Princes Street Gardens, George Street and St Andrew Square are transformed into a winter wonderland with ice rinks, colourful fairground attractions and festive markets. Take a spin on the Big Wheel or brave the thrilling Star Flyer for amazing views of the city. Explore the magical European Market with a cup of mulled wine in hand, for unique handmade gifts and delicious hot food and snacks. The kids can visit Santa Land for a whole host of family-friendly rides and activities including the Christmas Tree Maze, Santa Train, Carousel and Reindeer Ride.

Botanic Lights Christmas

Fri 24 Nov – Sat 30 Dec.A new festive event taking place at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Visitors can explore the illuminated gardens after dark and experience the festive spirit. Attractions will include a scented fire garden, choir of the trees, crystal lawn and seasonal food and gifts. Plus, look out for Santa and his elves! Book now.
